Lyca Kovai Kings clinched their second consecutive Tamil Nadu Premier League title as they beat Nellai Royal Kings by 104 runs in the final on Wednesday, July 12 at Indian Cement Company Ground, Tirunelveli. After captain Shahrukh Khan won the toss and elected to bat first, Lyca Kovai Kings posted a mammoth score of 205/5 courtesy of half-centuries from Suresh Kumar (57 off 33), U Mukilesh (51* off 40) and Atheeq Ur Rahman (50 off 21).
In reply, Nellai Royal Kings were bundled out for just 101 in 15 overs with Jhatavedh Subramanyan picking up 4/21 in four overs while captain Shahrukh Khan picked up 3/16 in four overs. As a result, Lyca Kovai Kings won the seventh edition of the Tami Nadu Premier League and clinched their second consecutive title. Notably, Lyca were announced joint winners of the 2022 edition along with Chepauk Super Gillies after the final got washed out.

Jhatavedh Subramanyan was awarded the Player of the Match for his magnificent spell of 4/21 in four overs. He picked up the wickets of Laxmesha Suryaprakash, Rithik Easwaran, Sonu Yadav and NS Harish. He finished the tournament with 11 scalps to his name from nine matches at an average of 19.72 and an economy of 6.57.

Lyca Kovai Kings captain Shahrukh Khan was awarded the Purple Cap for finishing as the highest wicket-taker of the season with 17 wickets to his name at an average of 10.58.

Guruswamy Ajitesh from Nellai Royal Kings was awarded the Orange Cap for finishing as the highest run scorer of the season with 385 runs to his name from ten matches at an average of 64.16 and a strike rate of 163.13. He smacked one hundred and three fifties in the season.
