4. Martin Crowe

One of the most important figures in New Zealand Cricket is Martin Crowe. At a young age, Crowe swept the globe. At the age of 25, Wisden even named him cricketer of the year.

Crowe, one of the top young cricketers at the time, subsequently emerged as one of New Zealand’s most important batsmen. In the test and ODI, he amassed 5444 and 4707 runs, respectively. He became the first New Zealander to reach 10,000 runs in a single season.

He shattered as many records as he could during his playing career, including the highest individual Test cricket score (299 runs against Sri Lanka in 1991). He had amassed the most runs for the Kiwis in both tests and ODIs by the time he departed.

3. Stephen Fleming
