India and Pakistan are the most prolific teams as far as the Asia Cup is concerned with India Tasting Success 7 times (6 ODIs + 1 T20I) while Pakistan have two titles to their name (both ODIs). Both teams have also finished as runners-up 3 times each. The India-Pakistan cricket rivalry is one of the most intense and passionate rivalries in the world. It is often called the “El Clásico of cricket”. Both teams will meet each other on September 2, in the third fixture of the Intercontinental championship.

Top Performers Between India and Pakistan in Asia Cup 
 

Among players, Shoaib Malik has scored the most runs in the matches played between the two teams. He is followed by Virat Kohli (407 runs) and Rohit Sharma (350 runs). In the bowling record, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has the most wickets (10), followed by Saeed Ajmal (8), and Anil Kumble and Hardik Pandya, who have both picked up 7 wickets each.

 India and Pakistan last meeting

Both the powerhouses of cricket last met in Match No. 8 of Asia Cup 2022 in Dubai, where Pakistan defeated India by five wickets. The Men in Blue batted first, where the star batter, Virat Kohli, top-scored with 60 runs for India and managed to post 181 in their 20 overs. In reply to the huge target, the wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan scored 71 runs and Mohammad Nawaz contributed with a crucial 42-run knock to help Pakistan chase down the target with five wickets in hand. As a result, Nawaz was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ for his valiant batting, three catches, and a wicket claimed during his bowling spell.
