On Sunday, November 13, 2022, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 came to a close. England emerged victorious in the championship match against Pakistan, and they took home the trophy. We’ll examine the best games from the competition that had us in stitches in this piece.
Here are the top matches from the T20 World Cup 2022:
The Netherlands vs. South Africa: A major shock
It was thought that South Africa should have won this game. A win here would have ensured them a place in the semifinals, but the Netherlands had other plans.
In a pivotal match where three separate teams had a lot riding on the line, the Dutch pulled off an incredible upset. It was shocking what transpired in that match.
South Africa controlled the Netherlands for most of their innings. Even though the Dutch picked up speed and scored some vital runs in the closing stages, 158 was never considered a total the Proteas could not chase down.
But some outstanding Dutch bowling and the excitement of the game overcame the South African batters. The very next game saw Pakistan overcome Bangladesh, removing South Africa from the competition and sending them to the semi-finals.

India vs. Pakistan: Virat Kohli delivers yet another memorable innings
India prevailed in an exciting last-ball encounter thanks to a masterwork from Kohli that had the spectators on edge.
India seemed to be out of the game when they were down 160 runs and had lost four wickets with only 31 runs scored. But to lead India to an exhilarating victory, Kohli produced the finest innings of his T20I career, slamming an unbroken 82 off only 53 deliveries.
Hardik Pandya gave him solid support also with a knock of forty. They formed an important 114 relationship together, which let India enter the game. The scenes following the game were amazing.
As the audience erupted in cheers and the Indian players went into the ground, lifting Kohli in their arms, there was joy all around the Indian dugout and sadness in the Pakistani camp. It was an amazing competition and a night to remember!
Zimbabwe vs. Pakistan: Sikandar Raza’s three strikes defeat Babar Azam’s team
When Netherlands shocked South Africa by losing, this match was seen as an epic upset.
Everyone had projected Pakistan would win going into the game, and it seemed even more likely when Zimbabwe could only manage 130 in their 20 overs. Pakistan was making steady headway until the middle order was completely destroyed by Sikandar Raza’s triple strike.
With one ball remaining, Babar Azam’s team’s score was down to three and they needed 11 to win the last over. Amazing scenes in Perth were created by a run out, though, so the batters could not come back for the second run. Pakistan also lost the match on the penultimate ball, which significantly reduced their chances of advancing to the semi-finals.

India vs South Africa: In a low-scoring thriller, The Proteas defeat Rohit Sharma’s team.
We always know that a match between two of the best teams in the world will be exciting, and that was the case when India and South Africa played each other in Perth during the Super 12.
The Proteas completely destroyed India’s top order, but Suryakumar Yadav’s outstanding 68 from 40 deliveries helped India to 133/9 in the allotted overs.
It looked hard to defend such a low total, but the Indian bowlers gave a fantastic display. Mohammed Shami was excellent, conceding just 13 runs in his four overs. The others also stepped up to the plate as they pursued the match all the way to the wire.
Nevertheless, two spectacular smashes by David Miller and Aiden Markram, combined with some negligent fielding on the part of the Indians, helped South Africa overcome them.
