After losing all their first five matches in the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL), Royal Challengers Bangalore finally registered their first win of the season when they defeated UP Warriorz in their last game. With that win, the Smriti Mandhana-led side has kept themselves alive in the competition but they cannot afford to drop any more points going forward and also will have to improve their Net Run Rate (NRR).
Meanwhile, coming to Gujarat Giants, the team stunned Delhi Capitals in their last match. The Sneh Rana-led side was phenomenal with the ball while Ashleigh Gardner showed why she is one of the best all-rounders in world cricket right now. The Australia international first smashed 51* runs off 33 deliveries and with the ball, picked up two wickets to help Gujarat win the match by 11 runs.
Now as things stand, they cannot afford to drop any more points as well. The team is currently fourth on the points table with only two wins in six games while the Bangalore-based franchise is at the bottom with one win in the same number of games. Thus, it is going to be a cracking contest as both teams will be desperate to get a win and improve their position on the points table.
