After being hammered in the three-match T20I series, South Africa won their first match on the tour to Pakistan, clinching the first ODI on the back of centuries from Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp. The tourists put on a daunting score of 292/4 in their 50 overs as Nashra Sandhu was the only Pakistani bowler who looked threatening.
In reply, Aliya Riaz stayed unbeaten on 49 off 58 but no other Pakistan batter could go big against the disciplined South African bowling. Eventually, the hosts lost by 127 runs as they were bowled out for 165. Nadine de Klerk and Nonkululeko Mlaba finished with three-fors while Ayabonga Khaka and Delmi Tucker chipped in with a wicket apiece. The second ODI is going to be played at the same venue, in Karachi, on Monday, September 11.

PAK-W vs SA-W Probable Best Performers:
Probable Best Batter:
Marizanne Kapp
The experienced South African all-rounder scored a breathtaking century in the first game. Her knock of 100 off 105 balls was studded with 12 fours and a solitary six and she was fittingly awarded Player of the Match. Pakistan would do well to dismiss her before she gets her eye in.
Probable Best Bowler:
Nonkululeko Mlaba
The 23-year-old left-arm spinner bowled well in the first ODI as she dismissed the likes of Muneeba Ali, Nida Dar, and Sidra Nawaz with her crafty bowling. She played a key role in the middle overs with her clever and accurate style of operation.
