Qualifier of the inaugural season of Major League Cricket (MLC) will witness Seattle Orcas taking on Texas Super Kings at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Friday, July 28.
Seattle Orcas (SEO) got off to a flying start in the inaugural season of Major League Cricket (MLC) as they won three matches on the trot and sealed their spot in the next round. They suffered a loss to Los Angeles Knight Riders, who had already squandered their chance for qualification beyond the group stage. In their final game, however, Orcas came back with a bang and defeated MI New York by two wickets while chasing 195 to win.
Texas Super Kings (TSK) have had a topsy-turvy campaign as they could not manage to win two matches consecutively. Their two defeats came against Washington Freedom and Seattle Orcas. In the encounter against Orcas, Texas were bowled out for 127 after opposition captain Wayne Parnell pulverised the batters, ending with figures of 5/20. SEO made light work of the chase as Quinton de Kock (53 off 36) and Heinrich Klaasen (42 off 21) entertained fans with a flurry of boundaries.

Grand Prairie Stadium pitch report
Batters have enjoyed their time at the Grand Prairie Stadium. The only two 200+ totals in the tournament were scored on this ground. Winning the toss and batting first could be a good option for a team as they would get the chance to play freely without scoreboard pressure. Chasing is always difficult in high-voltage clashes, and a daunting first-innings total could make life tougher for the team batting second. Out of the eight matches played at the stadium in MLC 2023, only once has a chasing team come out victorious. Anything above 170 should be a good score.
SEO vs TSK Probable Playing XI
Texas Super Kings (TSK):
Faf du Plessis (c), Devon Conway (wk), Cody Chetty, David Miller, Milind Kumar, Mitchell Santner, Daniel Sams, Gerald Coetzee, Mohammad Mohsin, Rusty Theron, Calvin Savage
Seattle Orcas (SEA):
Quinton de Kock (wk), Nauman Anwar, Heinrich Klaasen, Dasun Shanaka, Shehan Jayasuriya, Imad Wasim, Shubham Ranjane, Cameron Gannon, Wayne Parnell (c), Harmeet Singh, Andrew Tye
Probable Best Batter:
Devon Conway
The opening batter has been in fine form for TSK this season. He scored 159 runs in five games at an average of 31.80 and a strike rate of 131.40. Conway will hold the key for TSK as he has the ability to drop anchor and bat till the end, allowing others to express themselves.
Wayne Parnell
The Seattle captain was lethal with the ball against TSK in their previous meeting, picking up a five-for. In four matches, he has picked up eight wickets. If left-arm seamer can bowl to his potential, TSK batters will have their task cut out.
