Both Washington Freedom and San Francisco Unicorns have managed to win two out of their three matches in the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) and thus, in order to stay alive in the race to qualify for the next round, both need to manage a win they face each other on July 23, at the Church Street Park, in Morrisville.
Notably, Washington defeated Los Angeles Knight Riders by six wickets in their previous match. Their bowlers did concede a lot of runs but the batters played some brilliant cricket as Matthew Short and Andries Gous gave the team a perfect start. Later on, Glenn Phillips and Obus Pienaar did well as the team managed a comfortable victory.
When it comes to San Francisco, they too defeated LAKR in their last match. Matthew Wade looked phenomenal with the bat and can prove to be dangerous in the middle once again, while Marcus Stoinis and Corey Anderson too looked really sharp. With the ball, Shadab Khan did a commendable job.
