After losing the ODI series against Afghanistan, Bangladesh were under tremendous pressure to do well in the shortest format of the game. The drama concerning Tamim Iqbal bothered the team but looks like the home team has overcome that, as they have won two back-to-back matches and will now be targeting to win the final game in order to take the trophy home.
In the first match of the series, the batters were once again disappointed but Towhid Hridoy played some brilliant cricket to help the team get over the line. Skipper Rashid Khan was sensational and so was Mujeeb Ur Rahman but Hridoy managed to tackle them and score runs at a good pace to help the team win a thriller.
Meanwhile, even though bowling looks more or less sorted, it’s the Afghan batters that need to get better. Veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi was brilliant in the last match but others will have to pull up their socks as well. The top order needs to take a lot more responsibility as the team would be aiming to finish the series on level terms.
