KINGS vs RAJ (7th Match) – Highlights

In this article, we will discuss the thrilling encounter between KINGS and RAJ in the 7th match of the Bangladesh Premier League, held on January 3, 2025, at Mirpur. Chittagong Kings showcased a dominant performance, both with the bat and ball, to secure a resounding 105-run victory over Durbar Rajshahi.

The KINGS set an imposing target of 220 runs, thanks to their explosive batting lineup, which put up a commanding 219/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Durbar Rajshahi, on the other hand, faltered under pressure, managing only 114 runs in 17.1 overs. This match highlighted the Kings’ superior skillset and strategic brilliance, marking a significant moment in the ongoing tournament.

The 7th match of the Bangladesh Premier League 2025 between Chittagong Kings and Durbar Rajshahi at Mirpur turned out to be a masterclass in batting dominance and clinical bowling. Chittagong Kings set a mammoth target of 220, thanks to a breathtaking performance by their top-order batters, particularly Usman Khan, who stole the show with an explosive century.

The Kings got off to a shaky start, losing opener Parvez Hossain Emon for a duck in the first over, but Usman Khan quickly turned the tide. He unleashed a flurry of boundaries and sixes, smashing 123 runs off just 62 balls with 13 fours and six towering sixes at an astounding strike rate of 198.38.

His partnership with Graham Clark, who contributed a brisk 40 off 25 balls, steadied the innings and took the Kings to a dominant position. Mohammad Mithun, the captain, added 28 off 15 balls with two fours and two sixes, maintaining the momentum.

Late fireworks from Haider Ali, who blasted 19 runs off 8 balls, and Mohammad Wasim ensured the Kings finished on a high note at 219/5 in 20 overs. Taskin Ahmed was the standout bowler for Rajshahi, taking 2 wickets for just 22 runs in his 4 overs, but the rest of the bowling attack failed to contain the onslaught, with Hasan Murad and Shafiul Islam conceding over 11 runs per over.

Chasing 220, RAJ needed a strong start, but their innings never gained momentum. Mohammad Haris played an aggressive cameo of 32 off 15 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes, but wickets tumbled around him. Shoriful Islam struck early, dismissing Sabbir Hossain for 8 in the first over. Anamul Haque (8 off 9) and Yasir Ali (16 off 15) tried to rebuild but failed to capitalize on their starts.

Arafat Sunny and Al Islam wreaked havoc with their disciplined bowling, picking up 3 wickets each. Sunny’s spell of 4 overs, conceding only 23 runs, and Islam’s equally economical 4 overs for 17 runs dismantled the Rajshahi middle and lower order.

Rajshahi’s innings crumbled under pressure, folding for a mere 114 in 17.1 overs. Their captain, Anamul Haque, and the lower order struggled to counter the Kings’ clinical bowling. Only brief resistance came from Akbar Ali, who scored 18 off 12, and Sohag Gazi, who managed 11 off 19.

Chittagong Kings’ all-round dominance secured them a massive 105-run victory, highlighting their batting depth and sharp bowling attack. Usman Khan’s sensational century and the combined bowling effort made this match a statement of intent for the Kings in the tournament.
