Hambantota Bangla Tigers vs Kandy Bolts (13th Match) – Highlights

In this article, we will discuss the thrilling Lanka T10 Super League 2024 of Hambantota Bangla Tigers vs Kandy Bolts, where Hambantota Bangla Tigers emerged victorious with a commanding 47-run win. Batting first, the Bangla Tigers put up an impressive total of 163/6 in 10 overs, showcasing explosive batting that set a challenging target.

In response, KDB struggled to keep up with the required run rate and could only manage 116/9 in 10 overs, falling significantly short. This dominant performance by the Tigers highlights their superior all-round gameplay, securing a well-deserved victory in this high-octane contest.

The HBT delivered an explosive batting performance to post a formidable total of 163/6 in 10 overs. Although Kusal Perera fell for a duck in the very first over, Mohammad Shahzad steadied the innings with a blistering 52 off 18 balls, featuring seven fours and two sixes.

Skipper Dasun Shanaka then took charge with an unbeaten 39 off 15 deliveries, striking four boundaries and two towering sixes to accelerate the innings. Sahan Arachchige and Dhananjaya Lakshan added crucial runs in the middle order, contributing 10 and 18 runs, respectively.

Arachchige’s dismissal in the seventh over momentarily slowed the scoring rate, but Shanaka ensured a strong finish. Udana chipped in with a useful 11 off 5 balls, while Sabbir added the final flourish with a quickfire 13 off 3 balls.

The Tigers’ innings also benefited from 20 extras, including 15 wides. Thisara Perera and Ronsford Beaton bowled economically, picking up two wickets each, but Kandy’s bowlers collectively struggled with discipline, allowing the Tigers to post a challenging total.

In response, the Kandy Dambulla Bulls faltered under pressure, managing only 116/9 in 10 overs. Pathum Nissanka provided a glimmer of hope with a brisk 15 off 11 balls, but wickets tumbled around him. George Munsey fell without scoring, and Dinesh Chandimal could only manage a labored 13 off 15 balls, leaving the Bulls with a steep climb.

Skipper Thisara Perera and Shehan Jayasuriya attempted to stabilize the innings, but their contributions of 11 off 4 and 23 off 7 balls, respectively, weren’t enough to close the gap. Mohammed Shamaaz fought valiantly with a quick 25 off 13 balls, but the lower order offered little resistance.

The Hambantota bowlers were exceptional, with Tharindu Ratnayake claiming four wickets for just 10 runs in his two overs. Skipper Dasun Shanaka also shone with the ball, taking 2/16, while Udana and Viyaskanth chipped in with a wicket apiece. Their combined efforts ensured a comfortable 47-run victory for the Tigers.
