Batting first after losing the toss, Kolkata Knight Riders posted a formidable total of 200 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. The innings had a shaky start with both openers, Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine, falling cheaply within the first three overs. However, skipper Ajinkya Rahane stabilized the innings with a quick 38 off 27 balls, setting the stage for the fireworks that followed.

Young Angkrish Raghuvanshi impressed once again with a mature knock of 50 from 32 deliveries. But it was Venkatesh Iyer who took the game away from SRH with a breathtaking innings of 60 off just 29 balls. His aggressive stroke play, laced with seven boundaries and three maximums, lifted KKR’s run rate to a whole new level. 

Finisher Rinku Singh continued his good form, smashing 32 not out off just 17 balls to take KKR to the 200-run mark. Despite good efforts from bowlers like Mohammed Shami and Zeeshan Ansari, the SRH attack looked out of ideas against the onslaught.

Chasing a stiff target of 201, Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to a disastrous start. They lost Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan inside the first three overs for just nine runs. Vaibhav Arora was the chief destroyer, picking up three key wickets including the dangerous Klaasen, who threatened to turn things around with a fiery 33 off 21 balls.

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Kamindu Mendis tried to put up some resistance with brief cameos, but the consistent fall of wickets derailed the chase. Varun Chakravarthy tightened the screws in the middle overs with a masterful spell, claiming 3 wickets for 22 runs. Andre Russell chipped in with two crucial wickets late in the innings to wrap things up. Harshit Rana also bowled with great discipline, conceding just 15 runs in his 3 overs and picking up the important wicket of Abhishek Sharma.

Sunrisers Hyderabad were bundled out for 120 in just 16.4 overs, handing KKR a massive 80-run victory. Vaibhav Arora was rightly named Player of the Match for his match-winning spell of 3 for 29.
