The biggest blow came when skipper Rishabh Pant departed cheaply, managing only 2 runs off 5 balls. With LSG struggling at 35/3, it was Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni who played crucial knocks to bring some momentum back into the innings.

Pooran displayed his power-hitting prowess with a fluent 44 off 30 balls, smashing five boundaries and two sixes before falling to Yuzvendra Chahal. Ayush Badoni played a measured innings, scoring 41 off 33 deliveries while rotating the strike efficiently. Towards the end, Abdul Samad provided some fireworks with a quickfire 27 off 12 balls, hitting two sixes in the process. 

However, LSG’s total of 171/7 seemed below par considering the strong Punjab batting lineup. Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 3/43, while Ferguson, Maxwell, Jansen, and Chahal chipped in with a wicket each.

Chasing 172, PBKS lost opener Priyansh Arya early for 8, but Prabhsimran Singh took charge of the innings with a blistering 69 off just 34 balls. His innings were filled with exquisite stroke play, including nine boundaries and three towering sixes. He dominated the LSG bowlers, putting them under constant pressure and making the chase look effortless.

After Prabhsimran’s dismissal in the 11th over, captain Shreyas Iyer ensured that Punjab did not lose momentum. He played a composed yet aggressive knock of 52 off 30 balls, hitting three fours and four sixes. Nehal Wadhera provided excellent support, finishing unbeaten on 43 off 25 deliveries. The duo’s partnership helped Punjab Kings secure an easy win with over three overs to spare.

LSG’s bowlers had a forgettable outing as none of them could create sustained pressure on the Punjab batsmen. Shardul Thakur and Avesh Khan were expensive, conceding 39 and 30 runs respectively in their three overs. Ravi Bishnoi also had a tough day, giving away 43 runs in his three-over spell without picking up a wicket. Digvesh Rathi was the only bright spot, taking 2/30 in his four-over spell.
