The 1st Semi-Final of the Road Safety World Series T20 2020-21 between India Legends & West Indies Legends, and the 1st T20I between Afghanistan & Zimbabwe took place yesterday. Let’s have a look to learn about the exciting moments of them.
RSWS T20 (2020-21) Semifinal 1 (India Legends vs West Indies Legends)
In the 1st semi-final match of the Road Safety World Series T20 2020-21 in Raipur, India Legends reached the final by defeating West Indies Legends by 12 runs with their great batting skills.
After losing the toss and coming to bat first, India Legends batsmen started to take on West Indies Legends bowlers. Losing one wicket in six overs of the Powerplays, they picked up 59 runs. Captain Sachin Tendulkar played the highest scoring innings for the team. He scored 65 off 42 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes. Yuvraj Singh played the second-highest innings for the team scoring 49 off 20 balls remaining unbeaten. Amid 1 four and 6 sixes, he hit 4 of the sixes of his innings in the 19th over off Mahendra Nagamootoo. Yusuf Pathan played an unbeaten 37-run innings off 20 balls for the team which was quite effective for the team as well. India Legends lost 3 wickets in their stormy batting and put up a huge score of 218 runs. Tino Best (2-25, 4 overs) took the most wickets for West Indies Legends.
West Indies Legends opener Dwayne Smith teamed up with Narsingh Deonarine when opener William Perkins returned to the dressing room in the second over of their chase. On the second wicket, their 99-run partnership made them dreaming of winning the match. West Indies Legends fell out of the match as soon as Dwayne Smith (63 off 36 balls) and Narsingh Deonarine (59 off 44 balls) departed. Later, captain Brian Lara’s 46 off 28 balls took them closer to victory, but the West Indies Legends could not breach the target. They lost six wickets in the end and had to finish the innings remaining 12 runs away from victory.
Sri Lanka Legends will face South Africa Legends in the second semi-final match of RSWS T20 tomorrow.

AFG vs ZIM (1st T20I)
In the first T20I match of the series in Abu Dhabi, Afghanistan won by a huge margin of 48 runs with the courtesy of a great innings by Rahmanullah Gurbaz. After losing the toss & coming down to bat first, the Afghan batsmen raised a storm at Sheikh Zayed Stadium. Openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Karim Janat scored 80 runs in 8 overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz played an explosive innings of 87 runs off just 45 balls with 6 fours and 7 sixes. The batsman was caught in the long on trying to hit the 8 sixes of his innings. Captain Asghar Afghan scored the second-highest 55 runs in the Afghan innings. He hit 6 fours and 2 sixes in his 38-ball innings. Afghanistan made 198 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.
Whilst chasing the target, Zimbabwe never raised hopes of winning the match. Afghanistan dominated both in batting and bowling. Zimbabwe opener Tinashe Kamunhukamwe scored the highest 44 runs off 37 balls for the team. Afghanistan’s best bowler was Rashid Khan on the day picking up 3 wickets for 28 runs. Two fast bowlers Fareed Ahmed and Karim Janat took two wickets each.
Afghanistan took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series by defeating Zimbabwe in this match. The second T20I match of the series will be held at the same ground tomorrow.
