Team India showed domination in the third T20I at Harare as captain Shubman Gill led from the front with the bat.
Notably, Gill’s knock (66 off 49 balls) consisted of magnanimous strokes which took the Men in Blue off to a flier against Zimbabwe. In what was deemed as rotational changes, Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the innings with the young skipper on the tour and showed his calibre from the other end.
Post opener Jaiswal (36 off 27 balls) falling prey to skipper Sikandar Raza in a wild attempt to reverse sweep in a bid to keep up the tempo which Gill provided, India suffered the first blow. Besides, the centurion of the last game, Abhishek Sharma too fell cheaply. After Gill’s fifty, Ruturaj Gaikwad provided the final flourish for India. Gaikwad yet again took the onus of steadying the ship with his sumptuous knock (49 off 28 balls) along with Sanju Samson (12* off 7 balls) giving the final flourish with which the Indian team finished with 182/4 on the board.

Washington Sundar’s three-wicket haul shattered Zimbabwe’s last hopes
In reply, Zimbabwe failed to get going as their top three batters were back in the hut for 19/3 in just 3.1 overs. Pacers Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed showed good intensity with the ball before the wily off spinner Washington Sundar joined the party. Notably, he dismissed Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza and Johnathan Campbell to derail the run chase of the hosts.
Even though Dion Myers’ unbeaten fifty (65* off 49 balls) and wicketkeeper Madande (37 off 26 balls) put up some fightback by stitching a crucial 77-run stand to keep Zimbabwe in the hunt, Sundar claimed a three-wicket haul by dismissing the talented Madande.
Consequently, Team India outclassed Zimbabwe by 23 runs to gain a 2-1 lead in the five-match T20I series. This triggered a meme fest by the fans on the social media.
