The 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) contest between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) in Jaipur ended with the latter clinching an intriguing three-wicket win on the final delivery of the game. Rashid Khan, who played a match-winning knock of unbeaten 24 off 11 and also picked up 1/18 figures with the ball, got the Player of the Match award.
GT skipper Shubman Gill also looked effective with his bat and notched up 72 off just 44. During the game, the right-handed opener became the fastest batter to score 3000 runs in the cash-rich league. Suresh Raina served Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Giants (GG) during his 14-year IPL career and in those years, he scored 5528 runs in 205 matches at a strike rate of 136.73, with a ton and 39 fifties. During the 2014 IPL game between CSK and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Barabati Stadium, he became the first batter in the league to reach 3000 runs. He achieved the milestone at the age of 27 years and 161 days.
4. Sanju Samson- 26 years and 320 days

Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson became the 19th batter to amass 3000 runs in IPL during the game between RR and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Dubai International Stadium in 2021. The wicket-keeper batter crossed the 3000-run mark at the age of 27 years 161 days and currently, he is the fourth-youngest cricketer to achieve the feat.
3. Rishabh Pant- 26 years and 191 days

Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Rishabh Pant achieved the 3000-run mark against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the EKANA Stadium in the 2024 IPL and became the third-youngest batter to pull off this feat. In the 11th over of Delhi’s innings, Pant stalled a single on Ravi Bishnoi’s delivery and broke into record books at the age of 26 years 191 days.

Virat Kohli broke Suresh Raina’s record of the youngest batter to reach 3000 runs in IPL, during the clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and RCB at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in 2015. After crossing the 3000-run mark, he snatched the record from his India teammate Raina. During the sensational achievement, he was only 26 years old and 186 days old.

Shubman Gill surpassed Kohli with his 27th run during the GT vs RR game in Jaipur in the 2024 IPL to become the youngest player to accumulate 3000 runs in the marquee T20 league. He owned this feat at the age of 24 years and 215 days.
