‘You really think that’s how I operate?’ – Ian Bishop refutes false comment credited to him on Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson

Former West Indian cricketer, Ian Bishop, has found himself in controversy, as far as IPL 2024 is concerned. The West Indian icon was seen apologizing to a fan on X over a remark he made while on-air, commentating for Star Sports recently. 

In a latest development, an X user wrongly quoted Bishop while posting a picture of him in the commentary box. He alleged that Bishop compared the captains of RR and the Delhi Capitals, respectively, with the commentator purportedly one-upping Rishabh Pant to Sanju Samson, in light of the imminent T20 World Cup squad selection.

Another fan promptly tagged Bishop under the contentious tweet, asking him whether he said what was quoted at all. Bishop, who was left disappointed after coming into the limelight, this time, for something not of his doing, replied by disapproving the original statement, clearly stating that it’s not how he goes about his professional life.

A few days back, Bishop took to X, suggesting that in a private discussion with a colleague of his, LSG speedster Mayank Yadav’s development should be looked into, by providing him with a personalized strength & conditioning coach as well as a medical consultant to further expedite his growth into an even more proficient bowler.
