Sunrisers Hyderabad made it to the final of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024. The side defeated Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 of the tournament to make it to the summit clash, where they will be taking on Kolkata Knight Riders for a chance at glory.

The side’s performance against Rajasthan Royals was commendable, posting a total of 175 runs on the board. It was the resilience of SRH’s bowling attack that helped the side limit RR and eliminate the team. It is safe to say that Qualifier 2 was a day for the spinners. Alongside Shahbaz Ahmed’s marvellous spell, it was the spell of SRH opener Abhishek Sharma that was crucial for the side.

Scoring 12 runs in five deliveries in the first innings, it was the performance of Abhishek with the ball that stood out. The 23-year-old bowled four overs and took two wickets, conceding 24 runs in the process, as SRH won the game by 36 runs.

The performance of Abhishek Sharma impressed former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu. The former India batter heaped praise on Abhishek for his performances and opined that he is ready to represent India.

“Yeh baccha taiyaar hai (This kid is ready). He has the temperament to play in international cricket and he feels he belongs to the area. He is ready to make India proud,” Sidhu said on Star Sports.
