‘Yahan koi Talwaar nahi chalegi’ – Harsha Bhogle’s lighthearted assurance to Captain Rohit Sharma during presentation goes viral (Source – Jio Cinema)
Renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle held the presentation ceremony after the conclusion of the first Test played between India and New Zealand on (October 20) Sunday. As per the usual practice, the Captains are called for an interview to share thoughts about how the game panned out along with other aspects related to a player or the team in totality.
However, Bhogle seemingly stumped India Captain Rohit Sharma by giving him an assurance that he would grill Sharma after the hosts suffered a heavy defeat against New Zealand in Bengaluru. Notably, the visitors successfully chased down the target of 107 runs on Day 5, to script a memorable win after 1988. The last time the Blackcaps won a Test on the Indian soil was in Mumbai.
Interestingly, during a recent press interaction, the ‘Hitman’ in his unfazed yet comical manner had asked the media reporters to take the sword aka questions out from their sheath after a 46 all-out collapse.
“Chalao talwaar,” he had said after the dismal batting show by the Indian side to the reporters attending the press meet.
Hence, Bhogle felt it was vital for him to clarify his intentions before getting into a tete-tete with Rohit regarding how the first Test panned out in the last five days of play. However, the Indian Captain took the responsibility on him to answer the questions with immense honesty.

We didn’t expect to be out under 50, New Zealand bowled pretty well: Rohit
Rohit Sharma blatantly said that he was not expecting such a collapse for the Indian batting despite knowing well that overcast conditions would be challenging for the batters to evade. However, he positively stated that his side will not get bogged down by the loss and will move forward with better preparations for the upcoming second Test of the series. Notably, the next game will be played in Pune.
“Yahan koi talwaar nahi chalegi,” said Bhogle to Rohit in a rather cheeky manner.

“I said in my press conference after Day 2 that we knew it will be sticky early on and challenged with the overcast conditions but we didn’t expect to be out under 50. New Zealand bowled pretty well and challenged every corner of our bat and we failed to respond to that,” the 37-year-old replied to Bhogle.
“Games like these happen. We will take the positives and move forward. There are guys who have been in this situation before. We lost a game against England and won four games after that. Two Test matches to go and we know exactly what is needed from each one of us. We will try and put our best game forward,” Rohit concluded.
