The much-awaited auction for the 2025 edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is all set to occur in Bengaluru, on December 15, 2024. An overall count of 120 players will be contesting for 19 vacancies at the event.
The list comprises a total of 91 Indians (nine capped, 82 uncapped) and 29 overseas players. The 29 players will be in contention to fill a maximum of five slots. Amongst the prominent names who have listed their reserve price at the highest slab of INR 50 lakh are Deandra Dottin, Heather Knight (released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women) and Lizelle Lee. Major Indian names include Sneh Rana (released by Gujarat Giants Women), Poonam Yadav (released by Delhi Capitals Women), Shubha Satheesh (released by RCB-W), Tejal Hasabnis, and Mansi Joshi.
As per ESPNCricfino, several other renowned overseas players will be there to fight for their spots as well. A total of 12 Australians, Amanda-Jade Wellington, Alana King, Kim Garth, Laura Harris (released by DC-W), and Darcie Brown, to name a few, will be hoping to bag a contract for WPL 2025. As for the English, there will be eight of them who will be going under the hammer.

Lauren Bell, who was released by UP Warriorz Women, Maia Boucher, Sarah Glenn, and Sophia Dunkley are some of the members of England Women who will be featured at the auction. South Africa Women’s Nadine de Klerk will also be a part of the spectacle.

Mumbai Indians Women: Four vacancies (one overseas)
Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women: Four vacancies (no overseas)
UP Warriorz Women: Three vacancies (one overseas)
Additionally, the five sides can possess a seventh overseas player, provided of she is from an associate nation. UAE’s Samaira Dharnidharka, Theertha Satish, and Scotland’s Sarah Bryce are three such individuals who will be a part of the auction.
