Mumbai Indians dominated Royal Challengers Bangalore in a rather one-sided encounter during the ongoing Women’s Premier League 2024 at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium, securing a seven-wicket victory.
Batting first, RCB delivered a subpar performance, posting a below-average total of 131 for six in their allotted 20 overs. Ellyse Perry was a standout contributor, scoring 44 off 38 balls. For MI, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Pooja Vastrakar took two wickets each.
In the chase, Mumbai’s batters effortlessly made a mockery of the target as Yastika Bhatia aggressively took on RCB bowlers, scoring 31 off just 15 balls with four fours and two sixes before being dismissed. Hayley Matthews added 26 runs, and a notable partnership between Nat Sciver, Brunt, and the unbeaten Amelia Kerr sealed the victory for MI. Kerr, in particular, excelled with the bat, scoring an impressive 40 off 24 balls with seven fours, earning her the Player of the Match award.
