The UP Warriorz unveiled their jersey for the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). The Uttar Pradesh-based franchise officially unveiled the jersey on their social media handle on Tuesday, February 28. The jersey’s prominent colour is yellow with a darker shade of purple. The sleeves of the shirt highlight the sleeves with silhouette of Indian freedom fighter Rani Laxmi Bai.

Australia’s five-time T20 World Cup winner, wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy will captain the side. They acquired the 32-year-old batter for INR 70 Lakh during the Women’s Premier League Player Auction in Mumbai earlier in February. Besides Healy, the Warriorz bought other prominent overseas players for the maiden WPL season. Grace Harris, Lauren Bell, Tahlia McGrath and Sophie Ecclestone are the other foreign players bought by the Warriorz.

India all-rounder Deepti Sharma has been named as the vice-captain of the team. She was the costliest player for the UP Warriorz at the player auction as the franchise signed Deepti for a whopping INR 2.6 crore.

Former England cricketer Jon Lewis has been named as the head coach of the team. Meanwhile, Anju Jain will serve the team as the assistant coach and Ashley Noffke will be the bowling coach.
