Mumbai Indians will take the stage alongside Delhi Capitals in the 18th match of the ongoing season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) on Monday, March 20 at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy. Mumbai have played some exhilarating cricket in the marquee tournament thus far and were triumphant in their first five games, thereby booking a spot in the playoffs.

However, Mumbai were not at their best in the game against UP Warriorz, and lost the game by five wickets to register their first loss of the season. They would look to be at their vintage self in the encounter against Capitals and get back to winning ways.

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, too have been playing some exciting brand of cricket, and courtesy of their sensational showings, they stand second on the points table with four wins in six games. Though they have already qualified for the knockout stages, they would like to seal the top spot of the WPL 2023 points table and go through to the final showdown.

But Meg Lanning & Co. would need to be at the top of their game as they collide against the Mumbai side. Their batting unit did not deliver the goods in the clash against Gujarat Giants and Delhi failed to chase 148 runs. The team management would expect a better showing from the batters in the clash on Monday.

Pitch and Conditions

The DY Patil Sports Academy has provided a sporting wicket, with something in it for both batters and bowlers. The last five games played at the venue have been won by the chasing side and therefore, the team winning the toss will be inclined to bowl first.

Probable Playing XI for MI-W vs DEL-W

Mumbai Indians Women

Mumbai Indians have shown consistency in selection and have done minimal changes to their playing XI. Despite the loss in their previous game, Harmanpreet & Co. are likely to field the same team.

Probable Playing XI: Hayley Matthews, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Nat Sciver-Brunt, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Amelia Kerr, Issy Wong, Humaira Kazi, Dhara Gujjar, Amanjot Kaur, Jintimani Kalita, Saika Ishaque

Delhi Capitals Women

Delhi Capitals, in their last game, drafted Poonam Yadav into their side at the expense of left-arm pacer Tara Norris. Given the surface at Navi Mumbai tends to aid spinners, the team management is likely to stick with the same team composition.

Probable Playing XI: Meg Lanning (c), Shafali Verma, Alice Capsey, Jemimah Rodrigues, Marizanne Kapp, Jess Jonassen, Taniya Bhatia (wk), Arundhati Reddy, Radha Yadav, Shikha Pandey, Poonam Yadav
