Women’s T20 World Cup final: Marizanne Kapp gets emotional during national anthem

The eagerly anticipated final of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 is underway at the Newlands in Cape Town. The emotions are running high in the South African camp as they have qualified for the first time for the final of a World Cup tournament (both senior men’s and women’s). Being the hosts of the tournament, South Africa staged are remarkable comeback by storming into the finals after losing the opening game against Sri Lanka.

Ahead of the final, when both teams came out for the national anthems, all-rounder Marizanne Kapp couldn’t hold her emotions during South Africa’s national anthem and was seen shedding tears on the historic moment for her country. She echoed the feelings of the entire crowd present at the stadium who were extremely proud of rainbow nation’s achievement.
