Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt featured in the latest Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 promo for Star Sports as she showed her support for the Indian women’s team. The 31-year-old has added a new dimension to the ever-changing landscape of Indian cinema with her acting skills.
She has done several women-centric films like Raazi, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Dear Zindagi, and many more. Her upcoming film, Jigra, also sees her playing the protagonist, who looks to protect her brother against all odds.

During the promo, her passion for the sport and the Indian women’s team was evident as she urged the fans to stand in support of Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. as they look to create “HerStory” at the marquee event next month.

The much-awaited Women’s T20 World Cup is set to commence on Thursday, October 3, as Bangladesh takes on Scotland at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The opening day also sees Pakistan and Sri Lanka squaring up at the same venue.
India begins T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against New Zealand
The Women in Blue will play two warm-up matches against the West Indies (September 29) and South Africa (October 1) in Dubai before the tournament gets underway. India have been placed in Group A along with New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Australia.
The Asian giants begin their campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024 against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Friday, October 4. Meanwhile, the high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan takes place at the same venue on Sunday, October 6. India’s next clash will be against Sri Lanka as they look to avenge their defeat to Chamari Athapaththu’s side in the Women’s Asia Cup final earlier this year.

India’s last Group A fixture will be against defending champions Australia on Sunday, October 13, and this encounter will be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
