The Pakistan cricket team is undoubtedly trying to sort out some issues. One of the biggest rumored problems was the team’s unity. However, the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) is seemingly working hard to resolve such issues now. The PCB’s chief operating officer, Salman Naseer, recently came forward and confirmed the development.

The board also recently conducted a Connection Camp, where players like Babar Azam, Shan Masood, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Saud Shakeel, and many more stars were in attendance.

The camp mostly aimed at resolving internal conflict within the team and the alignment of the goals of the players and the management. It is worth noting that coaches Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie were present in the camp as well.

“The session was about how we openly and candidly accept and identify [issues] and ask for a commitment from each other, demand it, on how we can improve our performances and how we work together as a team. Our unanimous view was that we need to resolve this going forward and need to identify how we do it,” Salman Naseer said in a press conference.

“Where the talk is of unity, it wasn’t only about the team. It was between the team and management and how we can work together to do things more successfully. These were definitely part of the discussions. We talked about planning, we talked about planning, we talked about workload management,” Naseer added.

The idea was to sit together and identify issues: Naseer

With the training camp done, Salman Naseer refused to share details of the conversations that were held in the camp. However, he did highlight the crux of the discussions and what they were focused on.

“Everyone is feeling that the performances of players and management can be better. The idea was to sit together and identify issues and what could be better. What our vision is, and how do we get there?” Nasser said.

As for Pakistan’s assignments, the players are currently occupied with the domestic one-day cup, but after this tournament, the side will go on to face England in a three-game Test series.
