The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have pulled off nothing short of a miracle in the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024. At one point during the season, RCB had lost seven out of the eight matches that they had played. However, they are unbeaten in the month of May and have managed to qualify for the playoffs of the tournament.

The side recently defeated Chennai Super Kings in a do-or-die match, where they not only had to defeat the five-time champions but had to beat them in a way that helped them maintain a superior net run rate than the defending champions to make it to the knockouts.

The side did just that, finishing in fourth place in the standings and booking their berth in the Eliminator of the competition. As they gear up for the playoffs of the tournament, former RCB owner Vijay Mallya took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to wish the franchise luck ahead of their clash against Rajasthan Royals.

“When I bid for the RCB franchise and I bid for Virat, my inner instinct told me that I could not have made better choices. My inner instinct tells me that RCB have the best chance to go for the IPL Trophy. Onward and Upward. Best of luck,” Mallya tweeted.

RCB aim to defeat RR to keep hopes alive

Speaking of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the side has pulled off a  historic comeback in the IPL 2024. After finishing in fourth place in the group standings, RCB will be taking on the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals in the eliminator of the tournament.

It is worth noting that the Royals finished third in the standings and will be facing RCB in the Eliminator, looking for a spot in Qualifier 2 of the competition. Notably, the loser of the clash will be eliminated from the tournament, whereas the winner will go on to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Qualifier 2 for a spot in the summit clash of the tournament.
