The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) All India Senior Men’s Selection Committee on Tuesday, September 5, announced the 15-member squad that will take part in the eagerly-anticipated 2023 ODI World Cup. With the squad announced, fans delve into the India Premier League (IPL) team-wise distribution of India’s squad for the big-ticket event.

Notably, the squad consists of four players from Mumbai Indians (MI) – Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah, the most number of players from a franchise representing the Men in Blue in the World Cup.

This is followed by three players from Gujarat Titans (GT) – Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, and Mohammed Shami. Furthermore, the 15-member squad consists of two players each from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Delhi Capitals (DC), respectively.

Only Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have one player each in the form of KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, respectively, who have made the cut in the squad. It is worth mentioning that the think tank retained the core setup from the Asia Cup squad with a few exclusions.

Prasidh Krishna and Tilak Varma are the only two players from the Asia Cup squad, who will not travel with the squad for the marquee ICC event. In addition to them, wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, who was named as the traveling reserve for the ACC event, too misses a spot in the 15-member setup.
