Following a humiliating defeat at the hands of West Indies in the second ODI, team India will look to make a resounding comeback in the third and final ODI match. The two sides will square off at the Brian Lara Stadium, in Trinidad, on Tuesday, August 1.

The Caribbean side obtained their first win against the Men in Blue since 2019, after nine defeats on the trot. After a comfortable win in the first ODI, team India decided to make a few changes as they rested senior cricketers such as Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma.

While the move backfired thereby handing a massive win to the Windies, in the process, the latter also got on level terms in the series 1-1. With the ODI World Cup and the Asia Cup on the horizon, team India will look to play the usual setup which could see Kohli and Rohit back into the XI.

With momentum at their end, the Windies will be gunning to obtain a series win and put a dent in India’s campaign prior to the aforementioned ODI events. On the other hand, a resounding win is what the Men in Blue will look forward to before turning their attention to the T20Is.

Pitch and conditions

The surface at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad offers balance which essentially means that both batters and bowlers will be able to make use of the conditions. The seamers are likely to generate more pace and bounce coupled with some movement early on in the contest. Either skipper winning the toss will fancy chasing.
