West Indies (WI) and Bangladesh (BAN) are set to continue their three-match T20I series. Both sides will play the third encounter at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown on Wednesday, December 20. Meanwhile, the visiting team is currently leading 2-0 in the series and the upcoming match will be a dead rubber.

The first fixture at a similar venue did not go as planned for Rovman Powell & Co. The game saw the visitors come in to bat first after losing the toss. Thanks to knocks from Soumya Sarkar (43), Jaker Ali (27), Mahedi Hasan (26*), and Shamim Hossain (27), the Tigers posted a total of 147/6 runs in the first innings. For West Indies, Akeal Hosein and Obed McCoy shared four wickets between them.

In reply, the hosts came out to chase down the target but experienced a top-order collapse. However, skipper Powell was the sole player to provide some resistance with his fiery 60-run knock and valuable contributions from Johnson Charles and Romario Shepherd. But Bangladesh’s formidable bowling attack put relentless pressure on the side, resulting in a seven-run win for the Litton Das-led team. Mahedi was the wrecker-in-chief with the ball as he claimed four wickets.

In the second T20I, West Indies once again chose to field first after winning the toss. The visitors got off to a poor start as they lost their top order cheaply. Meanwhile, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Jaker Ali, and Shamim Hossain contributed significantly with the bat, helping the side put up a total of 129/7.

In reply, the hosts once again saw their batting order crumble against a strong Bangladeshi bowling attack, eventually leading them to yet another loss. For the side, Taskin Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers as he picked three valuable wickets and helped the side register yet another win in the series.

Pitch Report:

The Arnos Vale track favours the bowlers. The Batters would have to struggle and play proper shots to score runs. The ball would come slow onto the bat and spinners would also come into play after the powerplay. The average first innings score at this venue is 135. The captain who wins the toss should look to bat first and post a total of around 160.

West Indies:

West Indies haven’t had the best of results in this series and nothing has gone in their favor. The side has a good option to try their bench strength in this dead-rubber game. However, the hosts will look to end this series on a high and back their plans.

Predicted XI

Bangladesh

The visitors have showcased exceptional cricket in the previous two games and decimated the West Indian side in all the departments. Coming into this game, the side will look to stick to their winning combination and look to clean sweep the three-match series.

Predicted XI

Tanzid Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Litton Das (wk/c), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Jaker Ali, Mahedi Hasan, Shamim Hossain, Rishad Hossain, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, and Hasan Mahmud.
