The West Indies are all set to host England for a five-game T20I series; the first two matches of the series will be played in Bridgetown, and the remaining three will be hosted at Gros Islet. The games will be played on November 9, 10, 15, 17, and 18.
Ahead of the series, the Cricket West Indies (CWI) took centre stage and announced their squad for the first two matches of the England series. The side welcomed back the likes of Akeal Hosein, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, and Andre Russell.
The four players did not feature for the West Indies in their recent fixtures against Sri Lanka. Apart from some changes, the squad has mostly remained the same, which lost to Sri Lanka. It is worth noting that Matthew Forde has come in as a replacement for Alzarri Joseph after the latter was recently suspended for leaving the field midgame.

Furthermore, Rovman Powell will be leading the side, and the West Indies will hope to put in a good showing and build on their form in the shortest format. With the announcement of the squad, the West Indies head coach, Darren Sammy, came forward and opined that it can prove to be challenging to pick an XI from the squad as every single player has been challenging for a spot.
“The T20 team is our most settled team with lots of experienced players. However, the difficulty will be picking the XI, as every single player is challenging for a spot. As we face a very good England team, I am confident that the selected squad will continue to play a brand of cricket that allows us to win games, and this ‘Rivalry’ series,” Sammy was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
