The fourth Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 ended in defeat for the Indian team. It is worth noting that after three Test matches, the series score reads 1-1 after India won the first game, Australia the second, and the third clash ending in a draw.

Furthermore, the fourth Test of the series resulted in a hefty loss for the Indian team as well. With the clash going as far as the last session of Day 5, there were several moments from the game that became talking points. One of the moments came right after Tea on the last day when ace Australia batter Travis Head was given the responsibility to bowl.

It is interesting to note that skipper Pat Cummins’ decision came to fruition when Head took the wicket of Rishabh Pant, as Australia inched towards a win. Talking about his decision, Cummins explained why he let Head bowl.

“We were a bit behind on the over rate, so we thought, ‘Get Trav in there, it may help us out with that,’” Cummins was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.

It is pretty disappointing: Rohit Sharma

The Indian team got a target of 340 runs to chase down in the second innings but the side was bundled out for 155 runs as they lost the game and gave away the advantage to the Aussies. Talking about the match, skipper Rohit Sharma came forward and talked about how disappointed he is.

“It is pretty disappointing. It’s not that we went in with the intent of giving up the fitght. We wanted to fight till the end and unfortunately we couldn’t do it. It’ll be tough to assess just the last two sessions. If you look at the overall Test match, we had our chances, but we didn’t take them. We had Australia 90 for 6. We know things can get tough, but we want to play tough cricket from hard situations,” Rohit said in the post-match presentation ceremony.
