In this blog, we will discuss Faf du Plessis delighted after winning against DC ”We want to play that style of cricket – RCB talks about playing bold’. The turnaround that the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have engineered in the latter stages of their IPL 2024 campaign would have been beyond the expectations of many. They were positioned at the bottom of the ten-franchise league table, having secured just one win in their initial eight matches. Just when apprehensions were mounting regarding the Bengaluru-based franchise possibly eclipsing their own record for the lowest number of wins by them in a single campaign (three in 2017), they astounded everyone by elevating their intensity and performance levels, culminating in an energizing and uplifting comeback by winning five on the bounce.
Speking at the post-match conference after his side’s most-recent triumph against the Delhi Capitals by 47 runs, RCB’s skipper, Faf du Plessis, seemed to be immensely buoyed by the renewed vigour that helped them achieve victory to stay in the running for the playoffs this season. He subtly referenced RCB’s mantra “Play Bold”, and expressed satisfaction as the team finally ignited their momentum and stepped firmly on the gas pedal.

“We want to play that style of cricket – RCB talks about playing bold, and just proud that we can actually do that now, putting our performance together,” stated Du Plessis.
Reflecting on their recent batting performances and unfaltering approach, he expressed praise and gratitude towards his team for consistently exceeding the 200-run threshold in five of their previous seven matches. Drawing attention to the initial seven games of the season, during which the bowlers secured a modest 28 wickets, he applauded the impressive resurgence of the bowling unit. It was particularly evident in recent matches, with the win against DC being another testament to their ability to consistently dismiss the opposition. It was the third successive instance of the same on Sunday, May 12.

“From a batting perspective, we’ve been around that 200 mark six-seven games in a row now [five in their last seven], so boys are batting really well. And then the bowling obviously – I think the first five or six games, we almost couldn’t get wickets at all, and now, this is the third time [in a row] we have bowled a team out. So that’s a good effort,” added Du Plessis.
