Team India were humiliated in the last Test that they played in Adelaide Test during the tour of 2020-21. They secured a lead in the first innings but in the second, the Virat Kohli-led side was bundled for only 36 runs, resulting in an embarrassing defeat. It was also India’s lowest score in Tests. The visitors went on to win the series 2-1 but the discussions regarding the ‘36 all-out’ have once again been the talk of the town.

They are set to compete again in a Pink Ball Test in Adelaide and ahead of that, the Australian media has been buzzing with the 2021 win. However, keeper-batter Alex Carey isn’t fazed by that and noted that the team doesn’t expect to do that again in the upcoming Test, slated to begin on December 6. He added that the players will take confidence from their previous performances with Pink Ball but it won’t be easy given that the team is already 1-0 down in the series.

“There are obviously amazing days in cricketing history but no we don’t go out there expecting to do that again. We have a process and a plan and try to execute and whatever happens, happens. But I wasn’t here for that test match. I tried to get in but I missed it. It happened too quickly. But yeah we’re excited. I think we should take a lot and we do take a lot of confidence out of our record with pink bull cricket. It doesn’t mean we’ll have the success but I think our methods, our style of play and the experience we have in this group will bounce back from Perth,” Carey told in a media interaction on Tuesday.

India are confident from last game: Carey

India defeated Australia by 295 runs in Perth and that will give the visitors confidence of doing well in Adelaide as well. Carey noted that the past experience won’t haunt the visitors and expects a great contest in the second Test.

I’m not sure (it will psychologically bother India). No I think we’re confident and I’m sure India are confident from last game as well so it will be a great contest.
