WCPL 2024

The upcoming Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) 2024 season is all set to commence on August 22, with all matches scheduled to place at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad. This year, the WCPL precedes the men’s tournament for the first time in tournament history and each WCPL team is affiliated with a corresponding men’s team.

The three teams to compete for the coveted title are defending champions Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, and Trinbago Knight Riders. The competition will feature six group-stage matches with seven matches in total and the summit clash on August 30 between the top two teams.

The player draft for this third edition of the WCPL occurred on July 16, with teams recently announcing their full 15-member squads. The opening match will see Barbados Royals Women locking horns with Guyana Amazon Warriors Women. Trinbago Knight Riders are the inaugural champions of WCPL which took place in 2022.

Meanwhile, Jemimah Rodrigues and Shikha Pandey are the only two Indian players to feature in the three-team tournament and will represent Trinbago Knight Riders. Additionally, former Indian pacer Jhulan Goswami has joined the  Knight Riders as a team mentor.
