The first batch of the Indian team has reached Australia for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25). Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, Washington Sundar, Sarfaraz Khan, Yashasvi Jaiswal and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar were seen leaving for Australia from Mumbai, on November 10.

On November 12, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul were one of the the key players, who attended the net sessions at the WACA ground in Perth. Jaiswal looked in good touch middling most of the balls and one of his hits sent the ball sailing and was found on the street adjacent to the practice session spot. The ball was found on the street and the picture of the same has made it to social media.

There are incredibly tough people in that dressing room: Gambhir

After Gautam Gambhir held the reigns of the Indian team as Head Coach, the fans were livid as India experienced their first-ever whitewash at home, at the hands of New Zealand. Team India now have only one option to win four out of five games in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to make it to the WTC final. Gambhir who is under immense scanner from critics has brushed the impact of the transition process within the team for their previous drubbings.

“I am not thinking about transition but the five Test matches. Transition or no transition, if that has to happen, will happen but I see some incredibly tough characters in that dressing room who are hungry to do well,” the Indian head coach was quoted as saying by Times of India(TOI).

“I am not even thinking that the team is in transition and all that kind of stuff. The only thing in my mind is, we are going to Australia to play five Test matches and there are some incredibly tough people in that dressing room who are going to achieve a lot of good things in future as well,” Gambhir concluded.
