Star India batting stalwart Virat Kohli is cruising well in the ongoing Perth Test being played between Australia and India. Notably, the coveted Border-Gavaskar trophy (BGT 2024-25) kickstarted on November 22, where initially on Day 1, it was a see-saw battle between the bowlers. However, in the second innings, after openers Yashasvi Jaiswal’s stunning century (161) and KL Rahul’s (77) vital knocks, the visitors lost some wickets in quick succession.

But under pressure, as Kohli is renowned for digging down and grinding the opposition, showed his class yet again by playing some terrific strokes. After having gone through a lean patch in recent months, the Delhi-based batter was looking good on Day 3 of the Perth Test. Kohli, who is usually known for his wristy big hits through the on side, this time left the fans and the cricket fans in awe when he got the better of the Australian pacer, Mitchell Starc. As per the strategy being followed for quite some time now, the Aussie pacers stuck to the plan of bowling to the veteran outside the off stump channel.

However, unlike getting beaten by the bounce in the first innings, Kohli played an audacious ‘uppercut’ which sailed past the fence for a six. However, while the ball was still flying through the boundary, a security guard came in its way, only to get hit by the ball. The incident took place on the second last ball of the 101st over. However, as a good gesture, the veteran spin wizard Nathan Lyon and Cricket Australia officials checked upon him in quick time, which was widely appreciated by the fans and cricket experts alike.
