The Indian team whitewashed the Ireland-Women side in a three-match ODI series under the leadership of Smriti Mandhana. The stand-in India skipper and young opener Pratika Rawal were the stars of the series where they showed an incredible display of batting at the top of the innings with two consecutive 100+ run partnerships for the first wicket.

The third ODI saw the opening pair give one of the highest opening partnerships for the Indian team Women’s ODIs putting up 233 runs on the board. Both Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal scored big with the skipper scoring the fastest century for an Indian in Women’s ODI and Rawal scoring her maiden ODI century.

In a video uploaded by BCCI Women, the two openers shared their experience on their milestone where Smriti asked the young batter how she felt after scoring her maiden century and how she quickly added 50 more runs to her innings.

“I enjoyed it, I’m enjoying my time at Rajkot, having a lot of runs which is you know a blessing actually. As a batter I always wanted to score more runs and doing that for your country is actually a privilege so I’m very happy,” said Rawal.

“After 78 I was a bit conscious yaar hundred hain hundred hain I was taking singles I was playing a little slow but after I got the hundred I was like yeah let’s just go for it, so the 50 runs after the hundred came a bit quicker I was able to score the way I score,” Rawal added.

Pratika Rawal also went on to ask Smriti fastest hundred in Women’s ODI for an Indian batter which she completed in 70 balls breaking the record of Harmanpreet Kaur who scored her century in 87 balls against South Africa Women in 2024.

“I just wanted to go out there and bat with a lot of freedom today before I went in I told the entire dugout that I am going to try and play my shots because not many times you get the opportunity to do that,” Mandhana said.
