Team India’s hitman aka Captain Rohit Sharma is gearing up for the upcoming home assignment against New Zealand in the form of a three-match Test series. Notably, the Kiwis will tour India as part of the World Test Championship (WTC) schedule.

In the same vein, recently, Sharma was seen training intensely at the in Mumbai. While he was busy training, a piece of news which got the cricket fraternity worried was that the young Musheer Khan, who had been in sublime form with the bat was involved in a road accident. As a result, he suffered some injuries including hurting his neck as well.

Since then, he has been away from any cricket action and has been recovering. Amidst this, his elder brother Sarfaraz Khan slammed a memorable double ton to make up for his absence and helped Mumbai clinch a victory against the Rest of India (ROI) side after 27 long years. In the aftermath of the accident, Rohit Sharma being a caring Captain for his teammates, ensured to take some time to visit Sarfaraz Khan to meet his brother Musheer to find out about his health well-being and recovery.

Post the visit, Sarfaraz Khan took to his social media and posted an image where Rohit was seen spending time with the former’s family. Besides, the father of cricket stars, Naushad Khan can also be seen in the shared image. Meanwhile, speaking of Musheer Khan, he was visibly wearing his neck brace. For the unversed, Musheer was travelling to Lucknow from Azamgarh by his car along with his father, to reach the venue to take part in the Irani Cup.

Sarfaraz omitted from Mumbai team for Ranji Trophy opener

However, due to an unfortunate accident where his car rammed into a divider and got flipped on the Purvanchal highway. As a result, he missed out on playing for Mumbai. Despite that, Musheer Khan was invited to get felicitated by the Mumbai Cricket Association for winning the Irani Trophy. Now, speaking of the elder brother, after slamming double century, he revealed that it was a tumultuous time for him as a family but he still promised his family that he would score big to make up for the absence of Musheer from the Mumbai team.

As of now, the elder brother has not been picked for the Ranji Trophy opening game against Baroda. The game is slated to take place on October 11. The key reason for his absence was attributed to him joining the Indian team for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand.

“It has been an emotional week for me. I had promised my family and teammates that ‘if I am set, if I cross the fifty, I will score a double hundred a hundred for me and hundred for my brother (Musheer),” said Sarfaraz during the presentation.
