India will commence their Australia tour of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 with the first Test in Perth, starting from November 22. The first batch of the Indian team reached Australia, 12 hours before the inaugural Test of the series. Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, Washington Sundar, Sarfaraz Khan, Yashasvi Jaiswal and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar were spotted leaving for Australia on November 10.
On the other hand, star India batter Virat Kohli travelled with his family in a separate flight to Australia. Ahead of the first Test at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant were seen sweating it out in the nets at the sidelines of the WACA Ground. The video of the same is doing rounds on the internet and former India captain, Kohli was not spotted in the nets.

KL Rahul too grinds at WACA nets
KL Rahul, who reached Australia beforehand and joined the India A team for the second four-day game against Australia A was also seen hitting the ball in tandem at WACA. Rahul is fighting for his spot, with Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan also vying for a place in the playing XI. It is worth noting that, Rahul has played five Tests in Australia and has scored 187 runs at an average of 20.77. But his splendid 110 -runs knock during 2015 tour is considered as one of his best knocks.

After losing to New Zealand by 3-0 at home, India’s World Test Championship 2025 final prospects are shaken. They have to win four out of five games against Australia in the upcoming series to guarantee a place in the finale at Lord’s. For the unversed, India have reached the finals of both previous WTC finals and were comprehensively beaten by New Zealand and Australia respectively.
