India and Kolkata Knight Riders finisher Rinku Singh revealed his new tattoo ahead of the first T20I against Bangladesh in Gwalior. He got it designed on his left forearm with the message ‘God’s Plan’, a phrase he has used more than often in the last edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He also explained that he designed a sun around the words and noted the inspiration behind it.
The flamboyant batter stated that his five sixes for KKR against Yash Dayal in IPL 2023 changed his life in many ways and for the same reason, he got it inked. The 26-year-old described that those five sixes are the actual reason behind the tattoo and the sun rays portrayed the same.
“I think everyone knows by now that I use a phrase, ‘God’s Plan’ and now, I have got it inked. It’s been a couple of weeks since I got it inked. Some people even know me by this name. So, I thought of getting a tattoo of it. I also got a sun around the words,” Rinku said in a video released by BCCI.
“That’s the main thing to be honest. It is inspired by the five sixes (against Dayal) that I hit – two from the cover region, two straight and one in the leg side. My life changed following that innings as more people got to know about me after that. So, that’s the inspiration behind the tattoo,” he added.

Notably, after a sub-par series against Sri Lanka, Rinku will be hoping to get some runs against Bangladesh to seal his spot in the T20I squad. He was excellent in the recently concluded UPT20 but failed to contribute much for India B in the Duleep Trophy. So far, he has represented the national team in 23 T20Is and scored 418 runs at a strike rate of 174.16. He will now hope to be more consistent as many of his competitors are waiting in the wings.
