Radha Yadav plucked two stunning catches in the second ODI between India and New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In the 16th over of the match, she showed great athleticism to dismiss Georgia Plimmer but it was her second catch to dismiss Brooke Halliday that made the internet talk.
In the 32-year-old over of the match, Halliday danced down the track for a hit but failed to time it. The ball hit the toe-end of the bat, resulting it in going to the inside of the ground. It looked out of Radha’s reach as it cleared the infield but interestingly, the 24-year-old tracked back, followed the ball well that was over her shoulders, and stretched at the right time to pull off a stunning catch.

The commentators were highly impressed with Radha’s efforts and lauded her for creating a masterpiece on the ground. With that, Priya Mishra also managed to pick her first wicket in international cricket. The 20-year-old spinner made her debut in the game and finished her spell of 10 overs for 49 runs.
Meanwhile, New Zealand started extremely well with the bat. After a defeat in the first ODI, the Sophie Devine-led side wanted to make a comeback as the openers looked rock solid. Veteran Suzie Bates had a good game with the bat, scoring 58 runs while Plimmer made 41. After their dismissals, the White Ferns lost a bit of momentum with back-to-back wickets of Lauren Down and Halliday but Devine brought the visitors back into the contest.
She rotated strikes well and also dealt with boundaries from time to time to complete her half-century. The captain will be hoping to keep up with the momentum and put pressure on the hosts.
Among Indian bowlers, Deepti Sharma and Saima Thakur had a decent outing but other than that, there was not too much. In case Radha had not taken those nearly impossible catches, things could have been much worse for India.
