India A opener Pratham Singh hit his maiden Duleep Trophy century on Day 3 of the ongoing game against the Shreyas Iyer-led side. Notably, India D were restricted to 183 runs in the first innings, helping the Mayank Agarwal-led side take a massive lead of 107 runs. In the second innings, India A started remarkably well as both openers looked in sensational form.

Captain Agarwal made 56 before Shreyas got the better of him in the final delivery of Day 2. On the following day, Pratham dominated with the bat, completing his century in some style. The 32-year-old reached the milestone with a six and consecutive fours against Vidwath Kaverappa and celebrated by raising his bat and helmet.

Usually, players prefer to play safe shots to get to the landmark but Pratham didn’t want to slow down and took the aggressive route to complete his century. He went on to score 122 runs before Saurabh Kumar got the better of him in the 60th over.

India A, meanwhile, would be happy with how the game has panned out so far and would be eyeing to add more runs in the second session before declaring to give their bowlers enough time. Meanwhile, India D will need an improved performance with both bat and ball to give themselves a chance.
