The Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi conducted a comprehensive inspection of the ongoing renovation work at the National Bank Cricket Stadium in Karachi, on Wednesday. The visit was made as Pakistan prepares to host the prestigious ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled for February-March next year.

The National Stadium, one of Pakistan’s premier cricket venues, is undergoing extensive upgrades to meet international standards for the upcoming tournament. During his detailed inspection, Naqvi focused particularly on improvements aimed at increasing the spectator experience.

He instructed the renovation team to relocate the electronic scoreboard to ensure unobstructed viewing for cricket fans. The chairman’s visit also resulted in practical modifications to the stadium’s infrastructure. Naqvi also pointed out the relocation of the parking facilities closer to the stadium.

India yet to confirm its participation in Champions Trophy

The Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), responsible for executing the renovation project, provided a detailed briefing on the construction progress. The meeting was also attended by key officials including Adviser Aamir Mir and National Stadium Manager, Arshad Khan. The PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the importance of maintaining continuous work progress to ensure timely completion before the tournament.

Meanwhile, India’s participation in the tournament still remains uncertain. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently awaiting government approval for their team’s travel to Pakistan.
