There were shockwaves spent down the spine of the cricketing fraternity after David Warner had recently suggested that he was ever-ready to join the Australian unit and would be more than set to make a return to Test cricket. There were varied reactions to that particular announcement.

In a recent discussion, Australian skipper, Pat Cummins, shared a humorous response that was directed to his Australian and New South Wales teammates. Sharing his conversation which he had with Warner over a call a few days before the podcast with co-hosts of The Grade Cricketer, Sam Perry, and Ian Higgins, he revealed how he took a cheeky dig at Warner on being asked how Cummins felt about Warner’s stance.

“Do you want to send a message to Dave (David Warner),” asked Perry.

Dave, we’re very interested. We’re taking it very seriously and we’ll be in touch mate,” responded Cummins with the camera panning in on him.

“I did speak to Dave a couple of days ago. He was like, ‘What do you think?’, and I’m like, yeah, good luck with the Thunder this year (referring to the upcoming season of the Big Bash League). And I look forward to your comments on Fox,” added Cummins, which left Perry and Higgins in splits.
