India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy played one of the most innovative shots in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy during the 2nd Test at Adelaide. The shot shocked Australian pacer Scott Boland and silenced the crowd at the Adelaide Oval. The outrageous hit by Reddy took everyone by surprise.
There is a need for pace bowling all-rounders in every international team, and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has recently seen the emergence of Nitish Reddy, who has already played some decent cameos early into his Test career. It is safe to say that Reddy has the potential to emerge as one of the upcoming stars for India in International cricket.
Things were looking really bad for the Indian team, who were facing a massive collapse. The Aussie bowlers were all over the Indian batters until they saw an incredible knock from Reddy. The handy knock also included a well-executed reverse ramp against Scott Boland which ended up clearing the third-man region for an incredible six. This was arguably one of the most innovative shots of the series so far, which showed the intent of the 21-year-old star.

Reddy helps India reach 180
Though the Indian innings ended with a low score of 180, the knock by Reddy was a big silver lining. The Visakhapatnam-born played an incredible knock to add some important runs for his team, ending up with a score of 42 from just 54 deliveries which included 3 fours and 3 sixes. Though not a century, Reddy’s contributions with the bat ensured India’s first innings score was stretched to put up some fight towards the fag end of the innings.
Though this day so far belongs to the Aussies, there is still a lot of time left in the Test match and it will be interesting to see if the Aussies can continue the dominance with the bat as well against a great-looking Indian bowling attack.
