In a recent interaction with Ram Babu, arguably former India skipper MS Dhoni‘s most passionate supporter, at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium on day 3 of the first Test between India and New Zealand, a variety of topics were discussed regarding the World Cup-winning skipper. Right from him talking about the hype for “Captain Cool” throughout the venue at which he would be representing the Chennai Super Kings during the Indian Premier League to how he fell in love with the genius mind of Dhoni to extending his support for the Indian team after the international retirement of the maestro, a lot was discussed.
However, the most touching revelation that Babu, who was donning a T-shirt which was an Indian tricolour-themed one with Dhoni’s name and his iconic jersey number ‘7’ tinted over it, was when the super fan revealed that to date, it was Dhoni who paid for him attending all of India’s matches being played in India. There was a sense of pride and gratitude that could be heard in his voice.
“Mai jo Dhoni ka naam jo stadium mein leke jaata hu aur jo pass abhi tak milte aaraha hai, woh Dhoni sir ki taraf se milte aaraha hai (the name of Dhoni which I wear while visiting the various venues at which India play, the pass for attending those have been sponsored by Dhoni since quite some time),” disclosed Babu, while also declaring his loyalty to the Indian team.
