Former India cricketer, Mohammad Kaif, recently uploaded a video that had him bowling to his 77-year-old father, Mohammad Tarif, during a net session at their residence in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

Although he never had the opportunity to represent the nation like his son, Tarif was featured in 60 first-class and two List-A games throughout his career.

The father-son duo could be seen relishing their time together as Kaif gave throwdowns with a white season ball from halfway down the pitch for his father to defend and drive.

Watch the video below:

Most of the 48-second clip was a conversation between the two, as Tarif was seen removing the gloves from his hand.

After inquiring his father regarding his age, Kaif went on to ask Tariq as to how long it had been since the latter last held a bat, to which his father replied that it had been approximately 10-12 years.

Papa, age kitni hui aapki? (father, what’s your age?),” questioned Kaif.

“79,” responded Tarif.

Kitne dino baad balla pakda aapne? (after how long are you holding a bat?),” asked Kaif.

Das-baara saal hogaye, balla pakde hue das-baara saal hogaye (10-12 years, it’s been 10-12 years since I last lay hands on a bat),” replied Tarif.

Kaif’s next query for his father was regarding how long it had been since he previously engaged in a session of knocking, to which Tarif responded that he had last knocked his bat way back in 1985. The answer left Kaif in a state of reverence for his father, who still looked fit as a fiddle while batting.

Last knocking kab kari aapne? (when was the last time you participated in a session of knocking?),” interrogated Kaif.

Woh toh kiya tha pachaasi mein (the last time I had done that was in 1985),” responded Tarif.

Kaif attributed his outstanding fitness to his father in the caption of his post.
