Ahead of the upcoming edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, senior cricketer Mitchell Starc revealed his most haunting cricket memory. Speaking to his wife Alyssa Healy, the Australian star stated that getting out on 99 against India in Mohali bothers him. Notably, the cricketer is yet to register a century in the longest format. In 2013, he was close but missed out on the milestone. Starc, however, was the leading run-scorer for Australia in the first innings. The visitors posted 408 runs, but India batted well and scripted a six-wicket win.
Healy meanwhile shared her experience when Starc was batting in the middle. The Australian women’s captain stated that she was out with friends when the pacer completed his half-century and was keeping track of when he got to the 60s, 70s and 80s. After the 34-year-old got to his 90s, Healy revealed that she had gone home to catch the action live but only after a couple of balls, Starc got out to Ishant Sharma after nicking it to keeper MS Dhoni.

“What cricket memory will haunt you forever?” Healy asked on 7 Sports.
“99,” Starc replied. “Missed four in a row and nicked the fifth one,” he added.
“That cricket moment will haunt me forever too. I was having a beer with some of my mates and we were like, Mitch is on 50 and I was like look at him go. Then he was on 70, then 80, and then 90 and I was like, I need to go home and watch this. Got home and he nicked it like two balls later,” Healy said and got a thumbs-up reaction from Starc.

In the meantime, Starc is gearing up for the next Border-Gavaskar series. Australia is hungry to pick up a Test series win over India in almost a decade. The visitors had the last laugh on two occasions in India, and for Australia to win, Starc will have to be at his best.
