Day 5 of the ongoing second Test between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur is full of possibilities. Day 4 of the clash ended with Bangladesh on a score of 26 runs in the second innings, trailing by 26 runs and having lost two wickets in the process.
The final day got off to an excellent start for the hosts as veteran all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin struck early. Mominul Haque, who hit a brilliant century in the first innings, was unable to go big this time around. In an excellent showcase of captaincy by Rohit Sharma, the star batter had asked KL Rahul to be fielding at leg slip beforehand.
As Mominul attempted to sweep one of Ashwin’s deliveries, the ball landed directly into the safe hands of KL Rahul, who took an excellent catch to kick off the day in the best way for the Indian team.

India is looking to go for a win
Limiting Bangladesh to a score of 233 runs in the first innings, team India went all out on day 4. It is worth noting that both sides lost a significant amount of time on Day 2 and 3 due to rain and wet outfield. However, India attempted to make up for it by going all out on day 4.
Coming out to bat in the first innings, the side opted for an aggressive approach. Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a quickfire 72, with Rohit Sharma adding 23 runs on the board. Furthermore, Shubman Gill scored 39 runs alongside Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, who added 47 and 68 runs, respectively.
India declared on a score of 285 runs and are now looking to dismiss Bangladesh’s batting attack as soon as possible in order to get a result out of the game.
